for the ones who want the daily spaced-rep habit before school
Goal
Clear today's due cue cards first thing so spaced repetition runs every day, not just when motivation strikes.
Source principle
Spaced repetition: short daily recall windows on a growing stack beat heroic weekend marathons; the interval, not the duration, is what cements it. : from Make It Stick by Brown, Roediger & McDaniel.
The plan
- ๐6:00-6:05 AMOpen your spaced cue stack. Cards due today only.
- ๐ฃ๏ธ6:05-6:20 AMRecall all due cards. Answer aloud, no peeking.
- ๐6:20-6:25 AMSort into 'nailed' / 'fuzzy' / 'blank' piles. Be honest.
- ๐6:25-6:35 AMRe-study ONLY the 'blank' pile. Read once, close.
- ๐6:35-6:45 AMRe-recall the 'blank' pile from memory. Did they stick?
- ๐6:45-6:50 AMPromote any nailed card to a longer interval. Spread them out.
- โ6:50-6:55 AMAdd 3 new cards from yesterday's material. Grow the stack.
- โ
6:55-7:00 AMLog: cards reviewed, % nailed. Track the trend.
