for the one who says they're "committed" but can't say to what
Goal
Write a one-page declaration of your three commitments so they stop being vague aspirations.
Source principle
The 3 Commitments: commit to your purpose, to mastery of your craft, and to a productivity standard that keeps raising the bar. : from The One Thing by Gary Keller.
The plan
- ๐ช0:00-0:05Settle. One blank page, pen. Today you declare three things.
- ๐ฏ0:05-0:20Name your purpose in one sentence. Why you do this.
- ๐ ๏ธ0:20-0:35Name the mastery you will pursue this year. One craft.
- โฐ0:35-0:45Name the productivity standard you'll hold (e.g. one 4-hour block daily).
- ๐0:45-0:50Read all three aloud. Do they feel true? Edit until they do.
- โ๏ธ0:50-0:55Sign and date the page. Real ink. Real date.
- ๐๏ธ0:55-1:00Place it where you'll see it every morning. Mirror or desk.
- ๐ฃ๏ธ1:00-1:05Tell one person the three commitments. Out loud. Today.
