๐Ÿ”งBottleneck Drill

UltralearningOverachievers ยท Skill Sprint ยท 90-Min SprintHard

for the overachiever whose progress stalled on one stubborn sub-skill

Goal

Isolate the single rate-limiting sub-skill and attack it for one focused session.

Source principle

Drill: isolate the bottleneck sub-skill and attack it directly with concentrated reps. : from Ultralearning by Scott Young.

The plan

  1. ๐Ÿ”
    0:00-0:10
Diagnose the bottleneck. One specific sub-skill. Name it.
  2. โœ‚๏ธ
    0:10-0:15
Isolate it from the full skill. Strip everything else away.
  3. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ
    0:15-0:25
Design a 3:1 drill (3 parts reps, 1 part rest). Nothing else.
  4. ๐Ÿ“Š
    0:25-0:30
Measure pre-performance on ONE metric. Real number.
  5. ๐Ÿ”
    0:30-0:50
Drill rep 1. Full focus. 90-sec rest after.
  6. ๐Ÿ”
    0:50-1:05
Drill rep 2. Same drill. Same focus. Rest.
  7. ๐Ÿ”
    1:05-1:20
Drill rep 3. Same drill. Same focus. Rest.
  8. ๐Ÿ“Š
    1:20-1:25
Measure post-performance on the SAME metric. Real number.
  9. ๐Ÿชž
    1:25-1:28
Compare pre vs. post. Did the gap close?
  10. ๐Ÿค”
    1:28-1:30
Decide: drill-again tomorrow, or integrate back into full skill.
