A New Way to Learn : Before any technique matters, the learner must retire the old 'expose then trust' model. This is the cheapest place to fail, and the cheapest place to win.
Memory That Stays : New learners lose material in days because they never installed encoding. Memory comes first because everything else depends on something to retrieve.
Recall and Practice : Once memory is possible, the beginner needs the rhythm that keeps it: retrieval drills, spaced decks, interleaving. This converts 'studying' into 'practising'.
Self-Direction : By the time the basics run themselves, the learner needs calibration and a journal. These two habits carry the system forward when external structure fades.
Depth and Understanding : Intermediate learners have basic memory working but cannot yet transfer. Depth converts familiarity into portable skill.
