2-Minute Recall Launch

Make It StickLazy Students · Morning · Morning BlockEasy

for the ones who can't face a long morning routine

Goal

Start the day with a 15-min recall burst, short enough to actually do, strong enough to consolidate yesterday.

Source principle

Retrieval practice: even a single short recall window first thing consolidates yesterday's material far better than re-reading it later. : from Make It Stick by Brown, Roediger & McDaniel.

The plan

  1. 🌅
    6:30-6:32 AM
Wake. Water. No phone. Just sit.
  2. ✍️
    6:32-6:34 AM
Write yesterday's topic name at the top of a page. One line.
  3. 🧠
    6:34-6:36 AM
Brain-dump everything you remember. Pen on paper, no notes.
  4. 🔍
    6:36-6:38 AM
Open yesterday's notes. Mark hits and misses.
  5. 📖
    6:38-6:40 AM
    Re-read ONLY the misses. Targeted.
  6. 🔁
    6:40-6:42 AM
Close notes. Re-recall the misses from memory.
  7. 6:42-6:44 AM
Log: did anything stick today? Yes / no.
  8. 🎯
    6:44-6:45 AM
Done. 15 minutes, no more. Day started.
