for the one who wakes up already behind and freezes
Goal
Start the day with one small start instead of a giant to-do list that triggers paralysis.
Source principle
You don't finish big tasks. You keep starting. Each start is a fresh, low-stakes entry point. : from The Now Habit by Neil Fiore.
The plan
- 🛏️6:00-6:05 AMWake. Skip the to-do list entirely. Do not look at it.
- 🗣️6:05-6:06 AMSay out loud: 'looks like I'm starting'. Not 'I have to work'.
- ✍️6:06-6:07 AMWrite the top task on one sticky. Just one. No ranking, no list.
- ⏲️6:07-6:08 AMSet a 15-min timer. Just 15. Breakfast comes after.
- ▶️6:08-6:23 AMDo the smallest next action on the top task. One move.
- 📝6:23-6:25 AMNote: did the start land? If yes, continue. If no, shrink smaller.
- ✅6:25-6:30 AMEither keep going (timer off) or stop. Guilt-free either way.
- 🍳6:30-6:45 AMEat breakfast. Only after the first start lands.
- 📅6:45-6:50 AMPlan tomorrow's first start. Just the first, not the whole day.
Reward
Breakfast after the first 15-minute start, not before.
