๐Ÿš€Persistent Starting Skill Sprint

The Now HabitAdult Learners ยท Skill Sprint ยท WeeklyMedium

for the one who keeps abandoning the new skill at week 2

Goal

Run a 5-day skill sprint where the only daily goal is to start, not to finish.

Source principle

For long projects, the win condition is starting again today. You never finish, you keep starting. : from The Now Habit by Neil Fiore.

The plan

  1. โฒ๏ธ
    Mon
Set one 30-min start. Just start. Don't try to finish.
  2. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ
    Mon
Name the skill out loud: 'I am starting ___ today.' Just starting.
  3. โ–ถ๏ธ
    Tue
Start where you left off. Same 30-min timer.
  4. โœ‚๏ธ
    Wed
If resistance spikes, shrink to 15 min. Show up smaller if needed.
  5. ๐ŸŽญ
    Wed
Say 'looks like I'm starting' before each session. Lowers the bar.
  6. ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ
    Thu
Set the table first, then start. Environment first, action second.
  7. ๐ŸŽ‰
    Fri
Celebrate starts, not output. 5 starts = win, regardless of progress.
  8. ๐ŸŽฌ
    Sat
Optional: skill-adjacent play (watch a pro do it for fun, no notes).
  9. ๐Ÿ”ข
    Sun
Count how many starts landed this week. That's the only metric.
  10. ๐Ÿ“…
    Sun
Pick next week's first start. Just the first, not the whole plan.
  11. ๐Ÿ”
    Sun
Re-run the sprint next week. The win is starting again.

Reward

A weekend skill-adjacent play activity (e.g. watch a pro do it for fun, no notes).
