for the scattered learner who can't get into deep work
Goal
Build a morning ramp that warms up attention and lands in deep work within 90 minutes.
Source principle
Focus: warm up attention, ramp difficulty gradually, and redirect distractions the moment they appear. : from Ultralearning by Scott Young.
The plan
- ๐ชถ6:00-6:05 AMSet up: water, clear desk, kill notifications. One task named.
- ๐6:05-6:15 AM10-min light warm-up task. Easy. Just to start moving.
- ๐ฏ6:15-6:40 AM25-min focused block at LOW difficulty. Just one task.
- ๐๏ธ6:40-6:45 AM5-min redirect-distraction log. Write down everything that pulled you.
- ๐6:45-7:35 AM50-min deep block at HIGHER difficulty. Same task, harder gear.
- โ7:35-7:45 AM10-min rest. Walk, water, no phone.
- ๐7:45-7:50 AM5-min attention check. How focused was that, 0โ10?
- โ๏ธ7:50-7:55 AMOne-line note: 'What deep work I actually did was ___.'
- ๐งน7:55-8:00 AMClean desk, close tabs. Set up tomorrow's one task.
Reward
Coffee + 10 minutes of guilt-free phone time after the deep block.
